I was blessed with a great start to English hounds, and worked with some of the pillars of the breed along the way. I had the chance to watch some of the hounds that built a lot of todays pedigrees along the way. Just a lucky guy who happened to be in the right place at the right time LOTS of times .

I never thought I would find a dog I liked as well as a never heard of outside this house favorite of mine. Ch Ozarks Rebel Racket. She came out of nowhere and set the standard for English dogs in this area for ALONG time. I bought her as a 2yr old and kept her till she died....actually disappeared while hunting and never found. (tracking systems were not common yet in the the late 80s early 90s and we didn't own one yet)

Then I got wind of a wild, crazy, albet super talented hound being entered in hunts around the boone iowa area. a dog with a name as crazy as he was reputed to be. NTCHGRCH Robinsons English Looser. I bought him sight unseen. I never regretted it for even a second. He changed the minds of lots guys who were die hard fans of other breeds and set a new standard around this town that to this day has never been challenged. When the coffie shop coonhunters gather uptown here and talk about coondogs and what a great one is/was. the first and last word is ALWAYS "Poe's old Looser dog"

I bought him, refocused his attention, finished him to Duel Grand, took him to the finals of the 07 world hunt, and along the way found the greatest hound I have ever had the pleasure of walking behind.

For 3 years we spent almost every night in the woods together and most of the day here at home too. He is buried in my back yard with a sort of shrine build around the grave.

when I think of perfection in a coondog hide, I remember ol Loose and I always will. He wasn't the first hound to live here, but he was the last.
